3 Bridleways (8.01 miles 12.82 km ) Print
The route has changed from previous years with a newly opened bridle path which bypasses the last stretch of road work. The full route takes you out of Apedale Country Park along hard track, down Ththrough Halmer End village, through Bateswood Nature Reserve, passes through Hollywoods, to return along new Silverdale Skyline BP and back to the venue through Apedale Park.Apedale and Silverdale. The tracks at Silverdale are a joy to ride and should be a model for public access to reclaimed industrial sites. Riders have their own dedicated track, clearly waymarked, right around the Park. This is either grass, mown in September 2019, or a hoof friendly gravel. There is a great uphill canter track too! For a talk round, print the waypoints. Bridleway
Turn left downhill then left again on tarmac past the Heritage Centre and cafe straight onto a track.

Bridleway
At the Heritage Centre where the track splits, bear right for the main route. If you wish to extend the ride, bear left at the Heritage centre and follow the loop round the edge of the woods.

Go straight ahead then bear left downhill and over the horse steps.

Turn left on a track, Apedale Road.

At the junction turn left on a track, The Drive. Carry straight on at the cross tracks to the road.

At the road, High Lane, turn right then at the fork bear left.

Shortly take the bridleway on the left and follow this, ignoring the footpaths left and right.

At the junction with a road turn left then immediately right on another track ignoring the footpaths.

At the T junction with another track turn left to ride through Finney Green on Hollywood Lane.

Turn left off Hollywood Lane along with the edge of the wood on your right.

At the cross roads turn right on Scot Hay Road.

Turn left uphill on a bridleway where you can have a good canter on the tracks.

Follow the track round to the right.

Turn sharp left by the sculpture and onto the road.

At the T junction with the road, turn right and follow the road, using the good verge, a short distance to the car park.
